Emily McAllister Art is deeply rooted in appreciation for the beauty that surrounds us.
Wow… my 1st painting!
It was July, 2020. It was late. I had a bunch of pent up, creative energy. I remembered the thrifted canvas and acrylics were somewhere in the house. I found them, mocked up an easel of sort and got at it. I was thrilled (thrilled!) with how it came out. The sense of accomplishment was intoxicating. The thought of creating more art sent tingles down my spine. I was hooked! The rush on finishing a piece was undeniable. But, what impacted me most was what happened within WHILE I was painting. My mind cleared. My breath deepened. My soul connected to something much greater and more powerful than me. I relaxed. The art became meditative, and that peace is a gift.
In the 5 years since that first painting, I have switched to painting with oils. I’ve spent some time painting plein air. I’ve upgraded easels, and paints, and canvases and brushes. I’ve gifted paintings… sold paintings… have done commissions… have participated in art shows… and co-hosted my first Art Show last summer! I have soaked up all the good that has come from this newfound love. Enthusiastically, humbly, gratefully: I look forward to my future in art… The Best is Yet to Come!
I am seeking. I am striving. I am in it with all my heart.
